About Us
The Vino Mío Family

OUR HISTORY
Our Restaurant
Vino Mío Restaurant opened in 2003 with the intention of becoming a benchmark of contemporary cuisine in Malaga. And it has since been one of the most popular restaurants in Malaga ever since.
The owner, Hélène Mostertman, opened a second Vino Mío at the foot of the Cervantes Theater in 2011 and for two years she combined both businesses until she finally took over the original restaurant.
She has turned Vino Mio into a cozy and elegant restaurant, a cultural place where in addition to live music and great flamenco shows, exhibitions are held every month with works from local and international artists.
CONTEMPORARY CUISINE
Our Kitchen
We promote our cultural appreciation by cooking our way across the world.
Our menu card contains dishes from the Mediterranean Spanish cuisine to a South African Crocodile Steak (only with pre-order), an Australian Kangaroo Tenderloin or a Bangkok Wok, not to mention Indonasian Saté Bali.
For those that prefer to eat closer to home though, our kitchen serves one of the best prime cuts filet of beef or gratinated cod filet. We have a variety of pastas and rice dishes on offer, and have not forgotten about the vegetarians with a wide selection of vegetarian dishes to choose from.

HÉLÈNE MOSTERTMAN
Owner & Manager
Hélène was born near Amsterdam in 1972. She started working as a waitress at the weekends when she was 16 years old. She discovered at a young age that what she really liked was making people happy.
A few years later she started studying at the ‘Middelbare Hotelschool Amsterdam’ which she finished in 1993. Apart from that, she won that same year the second prize of Holland for her wine knowledge.
After finishing her studies Hélène began to travel and work in different countries to gain experience and learn new languages for her future project of opening her very own restaurant. During her travels she found the best place to start her restaurant and make her dream come true.
In 2003 she opened her own restaurant, one of the best restaurants in Malaga: Vino Mío
Local Charities
Vino Mío is very aware of social causes. For this reason, the restaurant often holds solidarity events in order to raise funds for different charities.
The annual event ‘Cajas con Arte’ stands out, where local artists decorate small wooden boxes that they donate to be sold. In addition, a solidarity raffle and a cocktail to raise funds for the Ronald Mc Donald house in Malaga, of which Hélène Mostertman is an ambassador, is held.
We also collaborate with the AECC, Cudeca and the Piel de Mariposa Association, among others.
